Where Bertie caught his first salmon at the age of 8. It was almost as big as he was and had to be landed by his father.
This affinity with fish from an early age, as well as developing a culinary desire to produce delicious things, stirred something deep within to create a range of excellent traditionally smoked fish.
Slowly but surely, things have come together and the result is a selection of delicious products from Scotland. Proudly presented as a speciality and something to be enjoyed over and over.

Strathgarry was borne to bring the best of the best to our customers. Bertie Thewes has spent over 30 years on farms, in rivers, in kitchens, in the hills and on the sea.
Firmly of the opinion that only perfection will suffice, his mission has been to ensure that a supply of premium Scottish produce should be available to people all over the globe.
With happy customers from Singapore to San Francisco, his goal is to see more of what Scotland has to offer available to everyone around the world.
